Across Africa, remarkable young people often have the instinct, presence, and ambition to enter the fashion and creative industries, but lack proximity to trusted scouting, professional guidance, and visible routes forward.
Future Models of Africa was developed to close that gap. The format discovers original talent in local markets, then gives finalists an honest development journey viewers can follow, from first casting to real industry readiness.

Africa is not one story.
Neither is FMA.
Future Models of Africa is a global model competition rooted in the diversity of the African continent. The format unfolds through cultural chapters, bringing together countries and communities whose stories are connected through shared heritage, traditions, histories, migration, and cultural identity.
Each season explores a different cultural connection, allowing its people, talent, fashion, and creative identity to take centre stage. Rather than attempting to represent Africa through a single narrative, FMA creates space for the richness and complexity of its many stories to be experienced on a global stage.
WHO CAN APPLY
Season 1 is open to aspiring models living in Senegal and The Gambia, as well as members of the Senegalese and Gambian diaspora worldwide. Selected applicants will be invited to major in-person castings this winter. Applicants from neighboring countries may also apply if they have a genuine cultural, familial or personal connection to the Senegambian region.
Each season will open a new cultural chapter, allowing FMA to grow across the continent with depth, not dilution, and bringing each place to the global stage with the attention it deserves.
